In 2005, Special Events Management was created as the umbrella company for the services previously offered through Chicago Special Events Management, W.E. Murphy & Company and Maximum Profile Group. In 1988, Chicago Special Events Management was created as an event planning and production company. Since that time the company has grown to produce more than 100 events annually. In 2004 it acquired W.E. Murphy & Company, a convention and trade show services company. In 2005 it acquired Maximum Profile Group, a marketing, public relations, specialized event planning and graphic design firm. Today, Special Events Management is a professional management and production company of sporting, festival and concert special events. It is a model company in the special events industry. In addition, SEMs marketing, design and tradeshow services play an integral role in providing expanded services to a wide array of companies and organizations throughout the Midwest.
